PTA - Friends of Hassocks Infant School (FoHIS)

Friends of Hassocks Infant School (FoHIS) is a registered charity run by a group of volunteer parents.  As a team they organise events throughout the year with the combined aims of raising extra funds for the school and providing wonderful social events for the parents and children attending the school.  Generally, they aim to raise over £10,000 a year.

The current team is one of the largest seen for a number of years now and they are hoping to make the most of this and bring even more events to the school community for all to enjoy.

  • Chair - Caroline Stevenson
  • Treasurer - Katie Waddington
  • Secretary - Hannah Potter
  • Committee Members - Katie Hurley, Sarah Kestle, Annabel Hansen, Lottie Carter, Emily Roff and Kayleigh Stubbs

Over the last few years, FoHIS have raised a tremendous amount of money, which has allowed the school to extend resources for subjects, such as instruments for Music lessons, fund Forest School lessons, enhance playground equipment, buy in a pantomime for children to enjoy and much much more.

Since 2012, FoHIS has donated 10% of its fundraising efforts each year to the Madagascar Development Fund, which aims to improve healthcare and education facilities and reduce poverty in Madagascar.  This is also a wonderful 'real' link for the children when they reach Year 2 and learn all about Madagascar in one of their topics.

FoHIS has recently sent money to the Madagascar Development Fund to help with creating additional space for a further 200 children to attend Antsampanimahazo School so more children can access an education.  FoHIS are proud to support such an amazing cause while also improving learning for our own children.

FoHIS have some amazing events planned for the 2025-26 academic year including Music with Mike sessions, Christmas wreath making, Valentines Disco, FoHIS vs FoWS Quiz Night and much much more.

FoHIS are always on the lookout for more people to join, people who think they can donate time, venues or items to support an event or who have great suggestions of what they would like to see on the social calendar so please do get in touch via email at fohisgroup@googlemail.com
